The High Growth team at the Embassy in Brasilia supports Brazil's efforts to play a more active part in an increasingly globalised economy, carries out economic analysis and briefings, and informs the UK policy discussion on the Brazilian economy. This includes, for example, analysis of how the rise of Brazil as a key emerging market economy affects the FCO's ability to promote a low carbon high growth economy; how Brazil approaches and interacts with the international financial institutions; and how Brazilian economic growth creates opportunities or constraints for the UK Government's foreign policy objectives. A key part of the team’s work is the administration of a portfolio of Strategic Programme Fund Economic Reform (SPF-ER) projects.

The High Growth Team works closely with UKTI to enhance the competitiveness of UK companies through trade and investment in Brazil, and to promote increased levels of quality FDI from Brazil.
