Disabled access

We are keen to ensure that our buildings and services are fully accessible to disabled members of the public.

The British Embassy in Brasilia is keen to ensure that our building and services offered to visitors are accessible to disabled members of the public.

However, due to security reasons and other restrictions, easy access for disabled people is not always available.  We therefore ask you to inform our Reception in advance if you will require special attendance, tel: (61) 3329 2326.  See opening times and contact details.

Access to the building

There are ramps and special access for wheelchairs. The building also has lifts and automatic doors fairly accessible for wheelchairs.

Inside the Embassy there are waiting rooms for Consular visitors.  The room is comfortable and with good lighting, but there are no specially adapted toilet facilities for visitors with special needs or toilets for public use.

Visually impaired visitors who plan to visit the Consulate accompanied by a trained guide dog will need to inform the Embassy in advance of his or her visit. This is for security reasons.  During the visit a member of our staff will escort the visitor.

Visitors with a hearing disability and those who communicate using sign language may visit the Embassy accompanied by an interpreter.

Whenever necessary, Embassy staff will be available to help visitors with special needs.
