The FCO - Foreign and Commonwealth Office presented in February 2008 its new Mission and Strategic Framework.  The mission statement for British diplomacy became Better World, Better Britain.

The new mission reflects the fact that, in an interdependent world, we can no longer have environmental, physical or economic security in the UK without promoting the same all over the world. A better world will help build a better United Kingdom.

The British Consulate General in São Paulo is mainly dedicated to one of the FCO's essential services: to support the British economy.
