Legalisation is a procedure by which the Consular Officer verifies the authentication of  the signature of a Public Notary or Sworn translator.

• Documents issued in Brazil must be legalised at the British Embassy/Consulate General or Honorary Consul to be valid in the UK.
• Documents issued in the UK must be legalised at the Brazilian Embassy or Consulate General to be valid in Brazil.
